The truth is what ever is on the other side f fear, I HAVE NO IDEA, and neither do you. Fear is just what is keeping us on the other side of all the things we want to accomplish. The world we currently living some how seems as though fear is a natural phenomenon. Everywhere we turn, everything we see, has some elements to trigger fear in us. But are these fears even real? or just perceived? Whatever be it, there are two options, confront it or run from it.
Confront or Run?
What are you going todo when fear becomes your best friend or next door neighbor? afterall, we only want to be surrounded by good, positive, likeable neighbors and fear is NOT ONE! Instead fear seeks to drive doubts, excuses and low self esteem, among many other low and negative emotions, thoughts and feelings. But remember, “What’s on the other side of Fear?”
Fear is the “An unpleasant feeling triggered by the perception of danger, real or imagined.” – note, real or imagined, perception of danger. Once we have acknowledged what fear is, then we decide, are we going to run from it , or confront it.
The thing is neither choice is necessarily wrong. Why? if it is real danger and you run from it, you have made a safe space for yourself. However if it is perceived and you confront it, then you have also saved yourself or grasp a new opportunity. Running from or Confronting fear is your opportunity to overcome a task or acheive a goal.
Running from or confronting fear is your opportunity to acheive.
Now, take a moment to think… What is on the other side of fear? We still won’t know until/ except we confront it, whether by running from it or facing it head on. Whatever is on the othe side of fear can only be know if we take the calculated and risky chance to find out. It is not wise that we will head into fear without being equipped either, so in order to conquer fear, we have to ensure we gather the right tools.
Take for example, you have a fear of going bungee jumping, or jumping in a large body of water. Asses the reason as to why you’re fearful and equip yourself with the safety tools, ask questions, secure your safety harness, life vest, whatever it is that is needed to conquer the fear and head for it. On the other side of conquering that fear may be sweet releif, joy, happiness, excitement, promotion, motivation; actual feelings and thoughts that we want to be our next door neighbors.
So the next time you feel fearful, think about the question. What is on the other side of fear, and the fact that you do not know, shouuld be enough to motivate you to kick it in the butt!
“The presence of fear does not mean you have no faith. Fear visits everyone. But make your fear a visitor and not a resident.”
