A Quiet Reflection from Conversations to Clarity
Not every season requires constant productivity or endless words. A quiet reflection on waiting, inspiration, and trusting God through the silent seasons of life.
There are seasons when words come easily.
Ideas seem to flow without effort, conversations feel alive, and inspiration arrives before we’ve even asked for it.
Then there are other seasons.
The quiet ones.
The ones where you sit in front of a blank page, knowing you want to write but finding that the words simply aren’t there.
Writers often call it writer’s block. We lose our train of thought, our creativity feels distant, and the pressure to produce something begins to outweigh the desire to create something meaningful.
When that happens, it’s tempting to write just for the sake of writing.
To fill the silence.
To say something simply because everyone else seems to have something to say.
But here at Conversations to Clarity, I’ve realized something.
Not every silence needs to be interrupted.
Not every season requires a new conversation.
The conversations worth having are the ones that educate, inspire, challenge, comfort, and gently move us toward truth. Those conversations cannot always be rushed. Sometimes they are formed in the quiet places long before they are ever written on a page.
Sometimes the most faithful thing we can do is wait.
Wait on the Lord.
Wait for clarity.
Wait for wisdom.
Wait until the words are no longer forced but faithfully formed.
Isaiah reminds us,
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength…”
Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
Waiting is not wasted time.
It is often where God is doing His deepest work.
One of the recurring themes in my book, My Nervous System Learned Before I Did, is that not every response requires immediate action. Sometimes healing begins when we stop forcing ourselves to perform and instead learn to understand what is happening within us.
I think the same is true with our words.
Not every moment needs a response.
Not every season demands productivity.
Sometimes our greatest growth happens while we are quietly listening.
So if you’ve been feeling like everyone around you is creating, speaking, achieving, or expressing themselves while you have nothing to say, I want to encourage you.
Don’t measure your silence against someone else’s season.
Your quiet does not mean you’ve been forgotten.
It may simply mean God is preparing something that cannot be rushed.
When the time comes, the words will come.
And when they do, they will carry more weight because they were formed through prayer rather than pressure.
Until then…
Keep showing up.
Keep praying.
Keep learning.
Keep growing.
And trust that the God who began a good work in you is still writing your story, even on the pages that appear blank.
A Note from Conversations to Clarity
Conversations to Clarity has never been about speaking for the sake of speaking.
It has always been about pursuing conversations rooted in truth, understanding, healing, and biblical wisdom; conversations that help us move from confusion to clarity, from reaction to reflection, and from merely surviving to faithfully living.
If that means pausing for a season until the right conversation comes, then that pause is part of the journey too.
From My Nervous System Learned Before I Did
Healing doesn’t always look like progress.
Sometimes healing looks like becoming comfortable with stillness.
Sometimes growth looks like waiting instead of striving.
Sometimes wisdom sounds like silence.
And sometimes the next chapter begins only after we’ve learned to rest between the pages.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you for growing with me.
The conversation isn’t ending.
It’s simply waiting for the next moment God chooses to speak.
“Be still, and know that I am God…” — Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
